چکیده
Centrosema, Phytoalexins, Isoflavones, Tectorigenin, Aesculetin, Chemotaxonomy A phytoalexin isolated from the fungus-inoculated leaflets of Centrosema haitiense, C. pubescens (3 accessions) and C. virginianum has been identified as 5,7,4'-trihydroxy-6-methoxyisoflavone (tectorigenin). This compound is variously accompanied by other isoflavones includ ing the previously described phytoalexin, cajanin (5,2',4'-trihydroxy-7-methoxyisoflavone). Sub stantial quantities of aesculetin were obtained when C. haitiense leaves were submerged for 48 h in water or fungal spore suspensions. The taxonomic position of Centrosema within the legume tribe Phaseoleae is discussed.

Genome Sequence of Bradyrhizobium viridifuturi Strain SEMIA 690T, a Nitrogen-Fixing Symbiont of Centrosema pubescens
SEMIA 690(T) is a nitrogen-fixing symbiont of Centrosema pubescens, and comprises the recently described species Bradyrhizobium viridifuturi. Its draft genome indicates that it belongs to the Bradyrhizobium elkanii superclade. SEMIA 690(T) carries two copies of the regulatory nodD gene, and the nod and nif operons resemble those of Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens.

Redescription of Japanagromyza inferna Spencer, first recorded from Brazil, and a key to the Neotropical species of Japanagromyza Sasakawa (Diptera, Agromyzidae)
Japanagromyza inferna Spencer is recorded for the first time from Brazil, in the North coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, inducing galls in Centrosema virginianum L. (Fabaceae). The species is redescribed, with illustrations of male and female terminalia. A key to the identification of the Neotropical species of Japanagromyza Sasakawa is presented.

This trial describes the effect of intraruminal infusion of sodium selenite on the in-sacco rumen degradability of a legume, Centrosema pubescens and a grass, Pennisetum purpereum in West African dwarf (WAD) sheep. A total of sixteen WAD sheep of an average body weight, 16.19 ± 2.63 kg were used for this study. A 4 x 4 Latin square design of four sheep and four sodium selenite treatments (doses...
